Michael Scott is the original Afrika Connexions presenter. Way back in the day, Michael worked on an anti-apartheid program at community radio station 2SER. The program was run by SASCA – a coalition of South African students who had fled their country following the Soweto uprising.
They had 15 minutes on air. Michael then went to Skid Row where he was given a two hour shift for an African music program. The program’s name was Afrika Connexions. Soon after, Radio Skid Row announced it was looking to set up an anti-apartheid program- and Micahel, who by then was a member of the PAC, jumped at the chance.. This makes him the founding member of the Afrikan Connexions team. Michael did the program for more than a decade.
