Radio Skid Row is looking for aspiring media-makers who want to make content about their cultural background through innovative approaches to media including video, audio storytelling and podcasts.
Diversity and WOKE-ness may be on trend right now, but we have been doing this sh*t before it was cool. We’ve been repping Indigenous, African, Pacific Islanders and East Asian communities for over 35 years.
This is an opportunity to take risks and build your voice in a supportive environment away from media outlets that tokenise cultural diversity. You can expect to meet and make connections with like-minded radical folks, so come start your career in media with people who get it!
The collective will receive mentorship and support through the station's training program and guest industry experts. You will be paid for the assignments you successfully pitch to the group.
- Must be between 17 – 30 years old
- Available for workshops and production from February – September 2019 (Workshops will be held fortnightly for two months, After that you will complete your assignments and meet with a mentor in your own time.)
This project is made possible with a generous grant received from the Community Broadcasting Foundation. Find out more at www.cbf.org.au.
